... It's unlikely, but... it could be metaphorical, too. Flayn was stuck in an elevator when things got locked up. Maybe that's what she tried to climb out of.

We weren’t great at catching Generals for a while, but I managed to cut one of the two after me. The found her out at trial.
But it didn’t matter because, yeah. The Generals were supposed to win to get us home.
