[HELLO ESTELLE, there are so many girls putting up with Jason, I feel so bad.
He is out in the courtyard, shockingly not pacing. Instead, he's seated on a bench with his arms draped over his knees and his hands hanging limp between them. The knuckles are pretty busted up and bloody. He doesn't look up at her but it's clear he notices her there.]
[Estelle's been standing out here for a while, looking out at the statues and flowers. After a few minutes, she realizes she's not alone. She rubs her eyes with her sleeve, then walks over to see him.
There's a pause when she sees his bloodied knuckles.]
Yeah, I did. Pretty weird we can't remember most of the contract, but apparently we signed it. I'm not sure if I would have signed one so vague and shady, but maybe I would have.
[He thoughtfully looks down as he sort of flexes and unflexes his hand.]
I think the Nightman probably didn't get us to sign it as honestly as it seems at first. And I also think they gave themselves a lot of vague leeway with what they want.
w1, friday

... Are you all right?
no subject
Yeah. Got the urge to punch some stone. It happens.
no subject
I don't just mean that...
... Were you friends?
no subject
[No concern. He deserves it.]
You?
no subject
[She smiles, faintly.]
He really helped me a lot.
no subject
[He glances away.]
The decent news is, he's probably not gone. He could be in a holding pen until we finish. So maybe it's not as bad as it could be.

If there's some way to get him and the others to the lobby on the final day... everyone can be saved.
no subject
You read the contract.
no subject
Did you read it, too?
no subject
Yeah, I did. Pretty weird we can't remember most of the contract, but apparently we signed it. I'm not sure if I would have signed one so vague and shady, but maybe I would have.

[She looks a little troubled at that.]
If it was to save someone dear, though... maybe I would have signed anything, too.

"The Player consents to any scenario which will make observing their stay more entertaining for the Host."
... It sounds like they can do just about anything to us.
no subject
[He looks up at her again.]
no subject
... Yes...
It could have happened last night, too.
no subject
It could have. Or someone who read the contract could have wanted to make sure they've got an easy ride.

no subject
Bingo. You wouldn't happen to be willing to get rid of one person to save the one they took, would you?
[IS HE JOKING....? Who can say.]

[He looks her over, but seems mostly satisfied.]
