[The beach is surprisingly warm and sunny considering the atrocities of this place were so turbo compared to a lot of others. And considering it was actually purgatory. There's birds and a stretch of beach with soft sand, and an blue ocean where the horizon is endless.
Jason stands there a moment, turning his hand to glance around the beach with a sort of conflicted familiarity. It's been a while since he's woken up on this shore. Lup might not let go of him which is fine, but he does try to slip away as he slowly takes a few steps forward across the beach away from the ocean.

she does not let go of him, and she does not let go of cloud, either, so jason drags them towards the beach. she's frowning a little, and she looks over her shoulder at cloud in a sort of worried way, but. for now she doesn't say anything, she just stands on the beach, holding jason's hand tightly.
he can zone out for about a minute before she will say something.]
He might be sort of zoning out, but he's still walking at least. Slowly, not rushing them. He's going up the beach toward the tree line where there is a clearing that leads to the mansion in the distance. He finally speaks:]

[she follows easily enough, stroking jason's hand with her thumb as they go. they are still daisychaining unless cloud is closer now, which in that case it's really just jason leading them around like that one carly rae jepsen video. it is really pretty here, despite everything she knows about the place.]

[He's leading them along the path to the mansion. It's old and fancy. It's kind of like Wayne Manor in aesthetics, but a little more pretentious than even that. If the whole murder hunt for sport was ignored, it seems like it'd be a nice resort of some kind, based on how the beach looked.
Though things do get... a bit creepier as they go? The vibe of it. Enigmatic, unsettling. Because it's empty, it's quiet here except for a few birds and the distant sounds of the jungle.]

she joins jason in looking at the overgrowth, tugging cloud closer. she's a little unsettled, but she feels better when they're both close to her. not for her sake, for theirs.

The hole was where the "dead" were. I don't think the living could reach us necessarily, but... we were down there. Later on, a few of the swords started throwing bodies in it to hide them. They'd land down there with us when it happened.
[He starts pulling the daisy chain along again, leading them inside. The interior is just as old European pretentious as the outside. It'd really be a cool place to stay if not for the overtone of murder. And, uh, purgatory.]

At the bottom is an open cave with fancy dinner setup on a long table. Each place at the table has a sketched portrait. Jason's portrait--it's surprising how baby-faced he looks when he's only a bit younger than he is now actually--is between a portrait of a hooded man and a portrait of a girl. There are a lot of portraits around the table, even one Cloud probably doesn't want to see.]
[Sephiroth is out there. Now he is covered, though. Lup is valid.]
Yeah. [To both of them.] As soon as the votes were tallied and announced, someone would get picked to off them over the dinner table. [Well, they could fight all in the cave, but he's going for the joke of getting stabbed or shot at dinner.] We killed a lot of innocent people. I think... we didn't kill anyone but innocent people except for when I died.
Then it was time to get thrown back into the jungle for another night.

[ cloud is pretty sure that is not entirely what jason meant by innocent, but lup isn't wrong that jason can't go five minutes without a self-deprecating joke so he's not going to defend him. instead he's moving through the portraits, but also, you know what never came up for him
